On 8th of October, 2009, my baby cousin born! She’s the first cousin I have from my dad’s brothers, so I was really excited about her birth.

The first time I hold her in my arms it was almost 10 days after he birth. It was an amazing feeling: a sweet baby girl, with big blue eyes dressed with a pinky suit and covered with a small blanket. Ιt was amazing! I was 15 years old and she was 10 days old! We almost have the same DNA! Our dads are twins!

A year later, I couldn’t have missed her first birthday! Only a year after her birth she walks, runs, dances, singing (with her own way ) and doing so many things! My little Nefeli is growing so fast! In some years she will be in my age and I’ll be 15 years older…She will seem like my younger sister, as my uncle says!

Sunset In Istanbul

It’s been 3 days now, that I’m listening to maNga’s “Şehr-i Hüzün” all the time. In fact, I fucused on the album’s instrumetals and especially on the openning and the closing of the album. The hole album has element of melancholy, so I tried to listen to the songs with my heart. The openning of the album, “Gün Doğumu” (=Sunrise) and the closing “Gün Batımı” (=Sunset), are the 2 song that gave me a kind of inspiration and I made a pic which I named “Sunset In Istanbul”.

I found this pic on Google and I made remake with my photoshop. I tried to focus on the light of the sun when it goes down and darken the points of the photo which for me meann loneliness. I prefered the sunset instead of sunrise not because it’s more romantic (as some people say), but because there are things on the horizon that your soul can see only in the sunset. That means, that when something is almost over, only then you can see what you did wrong…only when it’s too late.

This Is The End Of The World

According to Bible the end of the world will be in 2012. As I’m a bit atheist, I don’t believe it, but this fact made many musicians to write some really great songs.

In 2003, the english band Muse in their 3rd studio album “Absolution” included a song called “Apocalyspe Please”.

Later, in October 2009, Dead By Sunrise in their album “Out Of Ashes” included a song, named “End Of The World”.

The same year (April 2009), maNga released their 2nd studio album “Şehr-i Hüzün”. One of the album’s singles is the song “Dünyanın Sonuna Doğmuşum” which means “I Was Born At The End Of The World” (according to wikipedia.org).

I don’t know if the end of the world is close, but I really enjoy listening to songs about it !

Listen, Feel, Live

Maybe some of you, many times have felt that when you can’t say something with words, your heart <>> for you and words are replaced by feelings.

Sometimes this fact happens with the songs, too. Some people love listening to english songs, althought the don’t know english, like my dad does ! But for this isn’t difficult, ’cause I know english. But I do something that other people in my age don’t do: explore the world by listening to music !

Back in May 2010, I was watching with my mum, the semi-finals of Eurovision 2010. In the 2nd semi-final, I listen for the first time a tourkish band named maNga, singing in english a song that now I love very much ! “We Could Be The Same” is a song that I really wanted to win the contest ! Unfortunately, in the final of Eurovision 2010, maNga came 2nd after Germany’s stupid song.

For me, maNga is the real winner !

Last month, I wanted to do something different and I searched for maNga discography. I found that all the other songs of the band were in tourkish, a totaly foreign language for me. But as I like doing different things from the others (I’m unique !), I started listening to their song. Result: NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS BAND !!! That’s the point that only the feeling can describe !

Even I don’t know tourkish, maNga now is one of my favorite bands ! And one of my favorite songs is “Bitti Rüya” which means “The Dream Is Over” !

IT ROCKS !

Bright Lights And Black Hopes

About a month ago, my brother had told me about a song of Placebo, “Bright Lights”. I had listened to that song many times since today, but today I understood why I like it most.

Today, while I was watching MTV’s “Into The Music: Placebo”, I was wondering if this song would be on the playlist. The time was passing and finally, the last song of the programme was this. Then I felt like I was listening to it for first time. It was amazing ! But listening to the song I understood that everything that make us be afraid, is that which make us be stronger…We afraid of the death, but death make us wanna fight for life.

…in fact, we all believe in <>…but from the ashes can arise the <> of our souls !
